Non Destructive Testing of Fabric Weight in the Weaving Process

چکیده
Abstract Within the German Cluster of Excellence "Integrative Production Technology for High-Wage Countries", at the RWTH Aachen University, self-optimising production systems are investigated. Within this scope, the weaving process is analyzed. Weight per area is a major product quality of woven fabrics. Integration of sensors into the loom to monitor and control the weight per unit area is investigated online. Conducive sensors are not suitable for such a measurement. This is because the sensors are very sensitive to vibrations and changes in humidity of surroundings. X-ray sensors show very good results in monitoring the product quality online. Thus control loop to regulate the fabric weight per area using X-Ray sensors is developed and described in this work.

متن کاملMeasurement and Modelling of the Rubber Resilience based on Ultrasonic Non-destructive Testing in Tires
In tire industry, it is very crucial to evaluate physical and mechanical properties of the rubber which is used for production of the tire, to ensure the quality of the final product. Resilience is an important property of a rubber, which cannot be evaluated through direct measurement in production cycle in this industry. Therefore, non-destructive ultrasonic testing, which has been used in man...

ct such as color or width inconsistencies, slubs, broken ends, etc. The tests on the quality of yarns are usually performed at the output of spinning-mills. Quality test runs for looms and knitting machines require interruption of the weaving process. This interruption is not practically feasible for the machines that are intended for large production runs of fabric rolls. The quality test is c...
متن کاملDesign of Nondestructive System for Hardness of Carbonitrided Steel Parts Using Eddy Current Testing Method: Case study on the Tappet Parts
In this paper, a non-destructive eddy current test system was designed to evaluate the surface hardness of the carbonitrided steel parts. For this purpose, various samples of the tappet were used after the surface hardening and grinding operations as control samples and, if necessary, were subjected to destructive and non-destructive tests. Microstructural studies were performed with a microsco...
متن کاملA scalarization-based method for multiple part-type scheduling of two-machine robotic systems with non-destructive testing technologies
This paper analyzes the performance of a robotic system with two machines in which machines are configured in a circular layout and produce non-identical parts repetitively. The non-destructive testing (NDT) is performed by a stationary robotic arm located in the center of the circle, or a cluster tool. The robotic arm integrates multiple tasks, mainly the NDT of the part and its transition bet...
